Proprietary IPG Diode Technology
IPG is the one of the world’s largest manufacturers of high power diodes, producing multiple Megawatts of rated diode power on a quarterly basis. Over a decade of intense innovation and investment results in diodes which are brighter and more reliable, efficient, and compact than any competing diode solution.
Through constant iteration, IPG lasers scientists perfected a proprietary diode design that pushes individual single-emitter diode lifetimes to several years under typical operating conditions to exceed the most demanding industrial requirements.
The Power of Single Emitters
Compared to designs like diode bars, which use a monolithic array of 10 or more diodes on a single chip, IPG diodes use single emitter pumping technology to maximize diode performance and reliability.
Unlike bars and arrays, modular ensembles of independent diode elements do not suffer performance degradation from the failure of one, or even several, single emitter devices. This design has been instrumental in driving the growth of the industrial laser industry.
