High-Efficiency, High-Quality Overlap Welding

The laser seam stepping (LSS) process produces welds up to 3X stronger than resistance spot welding with faster and easier part fixturing requirements. Higher strength welds allow product engineers to design lighter weight parts, reducing material and processing costs. Laser seam stepping is a virtually wear-free process with no electrodes to replace, allowing for virtually no tool downtime.

Simplified Laser Welding Integration

Laser Seam Stepper is a fully integrated welding system complete with IPG fiber laser, beam delivery head, and system controller. The choice of C-Gun and Picker process heads are compatible with either two-side or single-side clamping access and enable control and monitoring of clamping forces. This fully-automated system is easily integrated with all typical industrial robots.
